Organizer quick start¶
Use this checklist for your first tournament. Four active players are required; 4–8 players is a practical size for a first session.
1. Create the tournament¶
On the home page, select Organize new tournament, enter your name, and select Organize tournament. Keep this browser available: it holds your admin access.
2. Invite the players¶
Share the Lobby link or QR code. Each player opens it and enters their own name. If someone will not use a device, select Add player to add them as a managed player. If a returning player lost access to their name, select Invite a returning player, pick them, and give them the QR code or send the link privately. To move a player who is already listed, including one you added, onto their own phone, open their menu and select Send personal invitation.
3. Check the Lobby¶
Confirm that everyone expected is listed. You can correct a tournament name, choose who is playing, set the number of courts, set Number of rounds, and grant another person admin access. Number of rounds decides when the tournament ends, so set it to what you intend to play.
The roster is not an online-presence indicator. Confirm attendance directly before you start.
4. Check the order, then start¶
Open Ranking and check the starting order. If it is wrong, open More board actions and use Reorder players. Start keeps the order the Ranking page shows, and that order decides who plays whom first.
Select Start Tournament in the Lobby. The first matches are created right away and you land on Matches, the page for entering results. Matches are active immediately; there is no separate start action.
Player cards show each person's court, team, and Batman or Robin role. Anyone not assigned to a court waits on the bench.
5. Record results¶
Players select the winning team on their Me page. On Matches, an admin selects Results on any court and taps the team that won. Conflicting player opinions create a dispute that must be resolved before that court can affect Tournament Rank.
6. Update and continue¶
When every active court has an effective result, select Update Ranking and Create Matches on Matches. The completed matches are archived, the ranking is updated, and the next matches are created in one step. Repeat the cycle. The courts are headed with the round being played, such as Round 4 of 7.
Ranking offers the same cycle as two buttons, Update Ranking and then Create Matches, with the full ranking in view. Its button counts the rounds as you go: Update Ranking 3/7 means three rounds played of the Number of rounds you set.
For late players, unavailable players, and alternative assignment or ranking methods, see Run the tournament.
7. End the tournament¶
The tournament ends by itself once the number of rounds has been played: on the last round, the button on Matches reads Update Ranking and End Tournament. It never ends while a court is still in play or while someone is waiting to be let in. To finish earlier, or to end one that will not reach its number of rounds, select End tournament in the Lobby's settings panel and confirm.
An ended tournament is read-only, and admitted players can still view its Standings page. To play on, select Play another round on Matches (or raise Number of rounds in the Lobby) before the last round is applied, or select Reopen tournament in the Lobby afterwards: play continues where it stopped, with the ranking, the results and the rounds already played intact.
If something goes wrong, use Fix common problems before continuing.
