Fix common problems

Resolve the problem before updating Tournament Rank or assigning replacement matches.

A player reported the wrong winner

The person who submitted the opinion opens the court panel and selects No result. They can then submit the correct winner. This removes only that person's current opinion.

Players disagree about the result

The court is disputed and cannot be processed. Check the result with the players, then have an admin select the winner. If admins have submitted conflicting opinions, one must first select No result.

The wrong players were assigned

Open that court and select Undo court assignment. Review the confirmation carefully: if the court already has activity, the confirmation names the recorded opinions that will be voided. The four players return to the available pool.

Use Aborted only when the match was a used playing opportunity with no winner. It is not the correction for a match that should never have existed.

A player becomes unavailable

Open the player's information and mark them Unavailable. They remain at their Tournament Rank but will not be chosen for future assignments. If they are already on a court, resolve or abort that match; changing availability does not change the current lineup.

The browser disconnects or shows old information

Stop taking tournament actions from retained information. Leave the page open for automatic recovery or select Retry now. Continue only after the yellow warning has disappeared and current tournament state is confirmed.

If a player closes their browser, they can reopen the app on the same device and choose the tournament from Recent tournaments. A signed-in player can also restore a tournament already linked to their profile on another device.

A participant joins late

Their request appears in the Lobby. Accept it when they should play. They enter at a club-relative Tournament Rank based on one current club TrueSkill snapshot and wait on the bench until a later assignment; current courts stay unchanged.

Create Matches cannot make the requested matches

Check that at least four players are available for each open court you expect to fill. Change the available player pool, or create one match manually.

Start Tournament creates the first matches only when at least four players are available. With fewer, create them later with Create Matches.

A tournament was created by mistake or only for testing

Before it starts, any admin can open the Lobby and select Delete tournament in the settings. After it has started or ended, the club owner deletes it from the Club page: select Delete next to the tournament. The confirmation lists the players who only played in that tournament; they leave the club. Club owners and organizers always stay. Deleting cannot be undone, and anyone who still opens the tournament sees that it was deleted.

A tournament whose results were published to the club ratings cannot be deleted yet.

A tournament is in the wrong club

End the tournament first. Then the owner of its club opens the Club page, selects Move next to the tournament, and chooses the right club. You must also be an owner or organizer of that club. The confirmation shows who joins the new club and who leaves the old one because they played nowhere else there.

Two people cannot share a name in a club. When a player's name is already used in the new club, the confirmation lists that name and asks whether it is the same person:

  • Same person: the player's results in this tournament count for the player of that name in the new club. Use this when someone joined as a guest in each club.
  • Different person: give the player another name in this tournament. A free name such as "Sam 2" is suggested.

Move tournament stays unavailable until you have chosen for every name. Your choice affects only this tournament. The results are not published in the new club yet; select Update club ratings on the tournament's Standings as usual. A tournament whose results were already published cannot be moved yet.
